That the Cabinet Member for Planning, Housing &
Property:
1. Agrees the outstanding rent review for 30 Sutton
Court Road, with effect from 1st January 2022.
2. Authorises officers to make any subsequent
decisions related to the completion of this matter.
Reason for decision The proposed rent reflects market evidence available at the
review date and has been agreed following negotiations with
the tenant. Approval will secure an increase in rental income
to the Council, conclude a long-outstanding rent review and
avoid the cost
s, delays and uncertainty associated with
arbitration.
Alternative options
considered and rejected
The alternative options were considered but rejected. A nil
increase would not reflect market value, referral to an
arbitrator would incur additional cost and delay, and doing
nothing was not considered appropriate.
