The WH Smith name has gone from Ruislip High Street

← More from Ruislip Residents' Association

The WHSmith name is disappearing from UK high streets, and Ruislip’s is no different.  The company has sold its entire high street division to focus on its more profitable travel business – so the shops in airports and main stations will remain, but earlier this year, the investment firm Modella Capital bought the 480-or so shops like Ruislip’s.

‘Our’ shop was rebranded as TGJones in September – with little obviously changing beyond the name above the door, and on the receipts.

In fact, only when preparing this post for the website did we notice that the projecting sign (compare the two photos, just above the yellow ADT alarm) wasn’t replaced.
