← More from Ruislip Residents' Association

The deadline to register to vote in the local elections is Monday 20 April. Poll cards will be sent to electors in April. If you receive a poll card, this means you are registered and do not need to re-register.

Information about who can vote can in a local government election is available on the GOV.UK website and The Electoral Commission for EU citizens.

At these elections, you will need to provide photographic identification before you can vote at a polling station. Read Hillingdon Council’s voter ID page to find out what ID is acceptable.

If you are unable to vote in person, you can apply to vote by post or appoint a proxy to vote on your behalf.

If you wish to apply for a postal vote, please note that Hillingdon Council must receive your application by 5pm, Tuesday 21 April.

You do not need photo ID to vote by post, but you will need your National Insurance Number to apply.

If you wish to appoint a proxy to vote on your behalf, they will need to go to your polling station and have their own photo ID to vote on your behalf.

The deadline for proxy applications is 5pm, Tuesday 28 April.
