The Cabinet Member authorise d the grant of an
extension for the relevant period of 90 years to the
existing leasehold interest as outlined in this report in
accordance with the provisions of the Leasehold
Reform, Housing and Urban Development Act 1993.
Reason for decision The Cabinet Members made this decision on the basis that,
once a formal Notice was served under the Leasehold
Reform, Housing and Urban Development Act 1993, the
Council was required to comply with the Act’s provisions and
timescales, to negotiate the premium for a 90‑ year lease
extension with the leaseholder following service of a
Counter Notice, and, where agreement could not be
reached, for the premium to be determined by a tribunal.
